Testimonials
The Bloodhound Education Team have received lots of positive feedback wherever we go. Here are just a selection …
“I have now taught all the classes again that experienced your workshop on Monday and they have all really enjoyed it- especially the practical challenges and the chance to see a 3D printer in action. Many of the girls have been asking about how to get into engineering, which we discussed but I wondered if there is a good website for this to give them accurate information?
The content was spot on from my point of view. Linked well with the Speed aspects of the Physics curriculum and also emphasised the contribution of Scientists and the hurdles that need to be overcome. I liked that you talked about faith and Science as this helped open up possibilities for some of our girls. The material was also appropriate for yr 7 and 8 and the higher level of the afternoon extended our able Year 9s. The girls have chosen an aspect to research further for homework; more detail on the Bloodhound Project e.g how did they make the car; the history of the Land speed record, Katherine Johnson etc and will use some of the materials from the website.
Best wishes and nice to meet you all,
Cathy Geary”

“Monday 29th April was an exciting day for pupils at Al-Ashraf Secondary School for Girls when Bloodhound came to our school.
Our pupils had a real hands-on experience putting cars together and learning about the Bloodhound project. Pupils were also able to see a 3D printer.
Both Rob and Graham were extremely inspiring, made the sessions interactive and engaged pupils well with their experience in engineering.
Also my thanks to Rebecca Bound from Renishaw who came in at assembly time to deliver a informative presentation in to the world of engineering. She is also working on arranging a day for our pupils to visit Renishaw in October. Hopefully this partnership will encourage our pupils to consider careers in engineering.

“Excellent delivery, fantastic day, well resourced. Great being delivered at the school as the whole school was interested in asking questions.
The children’s task was to design a car following given basic blueprints which they had to adapt to make the lightest, most aero-dynamic rocket car possible. In groups of three the children tackled their challenge with excitement and enthusiasm and by lunchtime their designs were complete and ready for construction.
After lunch the Academic Hall was buzzing as the young engineers assembled their rocket cars. Then all of the cars were taken outside, loaded with a rocket pack and raced. The designs shot across the playground in a flash.
The quickest car reached an amazing 64mph!! The engineers Jon, Gabriel and Ethan were delighted to have achieved the fastest recorded time. Their reward will be to have their team name on the side of the ‘Bloodhound SSC’ when it attempts to break the land speed record and reach 1,000mph. We wish them the very best of luck in their attempt and hope to welcome them back to the Prep again in the future.

“Rob from Bloodhound was amazing and very informative and inspiring to students. He worked hard to inspire and put across the science and technology side of engineering and the project in general.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable day and I believe the students enjoyed it too. They were engaged in the activities. His way of telling students how we use Maths and Science in our everyday lives was amazing.

“The feedback from students about their day has been really positive. The year 10’s have been energised and enthused for their future choices and this has been ignited with your help. It has provided an excellent run in to year 11 where they will be studying really hard to open as many choices as possible for their post 16 education. They have now been given lots of opportunities to research, discover and aim towards. I hope that your efforts and commitment to Chosen Hill School will at some point in the future come to fruition.
From the senior team, teaching staff and myself thank you so much for supporting this event.
Mrs Helen Kimber, Careers Lead, Chosen Hill School”
