Sustainable Desert Camp
Bloodhound Technical Camp on Hakskeen Pan – Nov 2019
It took a global search to find the Hakskeen pan in South Africa, where Bloodhound LSR will run, but finding it was just the start. This practical workshop tasks students to provide solutions to the environmental challenges of a desert environment, helping them understand the role of STEM in solving global issues and giving them the confidence to make a difference to the world around them.
Suitable for:
- Year 3 – 9
Curriculum and STEM skills:
- Geography: Desert climate & environment
- Design & Technology: Designing sustainable structures

Workshop length:
- Whole day or 2 x half day sessions
Student numbers:
- up to 30 in teams of 3 per session
