Bloodhound Education is excited to announce a new partnership with Curiosity Box and the development of a unique “Bloodhound Challenge STEM Day” in a box.
Kirsty Allpress, CEO of Bloodhound Education said “We have packaged up some of our hands-on activities linked to real projects like Bloodhound and the Land Speed Record to give teachers the toolkit to run their own STEM day using resources and video links to Bloodhound Education with signposting to further projects. The partnership with Renee and the team at Curiosity Box will help us continue to support teachers and parents in the educational recovery from Covid-19 and deliver on our mission to inspire students to explore and pursue science, technology, engineering and maths.”
The ‘Bloodhound Challenge’ fuses design & technology with sustainability and chemistry, is ideal for key stage 2 students with transition to key stage 3 and embeds the Gatsby benchmarks. Students work as future scientists and engineers, learning about additive manufacturing and how to use the Engineering Design Cycle through designing, building and testing their own prototype Car. They also work scientifically through seeing how rockets work – learning about chemical reactions, properties and changes of materials and living things through the fizzing fountain experiment. The Teacher hero pack includes physical and digital versions of the activities, a quiz, videos and games, a printable certificate, homework and a test activity pack. There are prizes for the winning racers.
