Bloodhound Education is thrilled to unveil our fresh branding and a revitalised website as we move to our new home at SGS Berkeley Green University Technical College (UTC) in the Gloucestershire Science and Technology Park. The move will see us located alongside the Bloodhound LSR Project’s HQ and comes as we widen our STEM coverage and add new workshops.
Included in the rebranding are a new logo and colour scheme. Our website and show car are being rebranded to match. In parallel, the Bloodhound Education team has been developing additional workshops within our new ‘Themes’ of Speed, Space and Environment. More Themes will be added in future.
“All of our workshops will continue to be designed to inspire children and young people to explore and pursue science, technology, engineering and maths,” said Kirsty Allpress, CEO of Bloodhound Education.
“Aspects of the land speed record and Bloodhound LSR will remain as a backdrop, but the new workshops and activities will let us broaden our scope to illustrate STEM subjects in other real-life projects. This is vital as we need more young people to engage with challenges around the environment, for example. And as the space sector continues to grow, the UK needs more engineers to meet the demand for innovation and manpower.”
High speed testing
The changes come as Bloodhound LSR makes its final preparations for high speed testing in the Northern Cape, South Africa, which are set to take place in October 2019. Our new brand image, including a new logo, confirms Bloodhound Education’s association with the revitalised project.
Ian Warhurst, CEO of Grafton Ltd, said, “We’re delighted that the Bloodhound Education charity has rebranded to reflect the new Bloodhound LSR livery. We continue to work closely with the Education team to deliver inspirational STEM engagement, showcasing the best of British engineering.”
Ian continued: “The excitement is palpable as we head into the high speed testing phase and let Bloodhound off the leash in South Africa this autumn.”
All of the Bloodhound Education team are looking forward to the results of the high speed tests. “We’re very pleased that the car is finally going to South Africa to do what it was designed to do. We’re thrilled for our counterparts on the Bloodhound LSR team and we’ll be following their achievements closely.” added Kirsty.
“Many thousands of children in the UK – and many thousands of adults too, of course – have been eagerly awaiting this moment, as have we at Bloodhound Education. So it’s a perfect time to use Bloodhound-related workshops and activities to build on this momentum.”
New academic year, new workshops
Among the new workshops are expected to be a Mars Rover challenge and a High-Speed Engineering challenge.
Existing and new workshops are available to book now, in time for the new academic year. We are also taking bookings for workshops and activities at the new Bloodhound Education Centre for dates from late Autumn 2019.
