Merry Christmas from BLOODHOUND Education
It has been a busy term and thanks to support from our education partners and Ambassadors we have continued to enjoy visiting schools and welcoming groups to our education centre in Berkeley. We would like to share some highlights with you and hope to see you in 2023!
In this issue:
• STEM Events Roadshow
• SEND & Home Educators Programmes
• Ambassador Support
• New Rocket Car Hub Partners
• Holiday Activities with Food (HAF) throughout Gloucestershire & South Gloucestershire
The Bloodhound Education Team, Ambassadors and Show Car were thrilled to be at the STEAM 22 event at Thorpe Park in October, attended by 10,000 pupils and teachers from 200 schools. It was very busy and great to see so many young people engaging in the activities. Thanks to Spriggs & Sons for continued logistics support and sponsoring our lovely new air shelter. It was also wonderful to be back at Brooklands Museum in November for their inaugural Innovation Academy event where 400 students took part in interactive STEM workshops.

Workshops at our education centre for home school and special education needs groups continue to be popular with over 500 children attending to date. Children commented they “enjoyed the hands-on activities and solving problems.” Parents welcomed the opportunity for their children “to develop their knowledge and skills in a fun environment.”

Ambassador support has been invaluable, and we thank our very special Bloodhound Ambassadors for giving time to make events happen and bring their own expertise to the sessions.
Thoughts from Anfor Ali on what it means to him. “Being an ambassador gives me the opportunity to demonstrate that STEM careers are open to all and share my deep passion and excitement that comes from a career of fun and diversity in engineering. I am inspired by the amazing children we work with at Bloodhound.”

We are pleased announce we have trained up new rocketeers at Swansea University and Oundle School to run Bloodhound outreach activities in their local areas. We look forward to seeing them in action next year.

Over 800 children and parents attended summer workshops through the Holiday Activities with Food (HAF) programme funded by Gloucestershire and South Gloucestershire Councils. Families raced a rocket car, launched a rocket and built a working wind turbine. We are all ready for more fun over the Christmas holidays at our centre and local venues.

Everyone had a great time, 95% of the young engineers said they would like to attend another event. Words used to described the activities were awesome, challenging and exciting. Some parents said “it was a great way to spend the day as a family away from screens.”
Merry Christmas and see you in 2023.
The Bloodhound Education Team
