New brand and website

On 9th September, we unveiled a new brand identity and a new website for Bloodhound Education. This includes a new logo and a red, white and black colour scheme. The website centres on our new ‘Themes’ of Speed, Space and Environment, within which all of our resources and events are now organised. Throughout the year, additional resources and workshops will be added to these Themes, so keep checking the website, our newsletters and social media for more information.
We have a new HQ
Bloodhound Education has moved to a new home at SGS Berkeley Green University Technical College (UTC) in the Gloucestershire Science and Technology Park. The move will see us located alongside the Bloodhound LSR Project’s HQ, enabling visitors to see the show car – and to see the Bloodhound LSR team in action working on the real car when they aren’t in South Africa. When the final touches are finished on our new home, we will be running workshops there, so if you are interested in a standard or bespoke event at the site, please get in touch.
Visit our new HQ in half-term

Dates: Saturday 26th October and Tuesday 29th October
Times: 10am and 1pm each day
Location: Bloodhound Education Centre, UTC Berkeley Green, Gloucestershire
We are running a Family Rocket Car event at our new Education Centre in October half term, so you can get a chance to see our new HQ for yourselves. Design, build and race your own rocket car as part of an exciting half-day experience. Also enjoy an interactive presentation on the science and technology behind Bloodhound LSR, a tour around our new facilities and see the Bloodhound LSR workshop.
Tickets are limited, so book now.
Join us as an Ambassador

Bloodhound Education aims to inspire children, students and adults all over the UK. To do this we rely on volunteer Ambassadors to help at events and lead individual activities in schools, clubs and other venues. We’re always looking for more people with a variety of skills and experience (not necessarily in science, engineering or technology), so please consider joining us as an Ambassador.
Last month we ran our Ambassadors’ conference in our new HQ for the first time, where we presented our new branding and resources, and heard from the Bloodhound LSR team about the imminent high speed testing. You can read more about the conference to find out how we support our Ambassadors. Then check our Ambassador Programme web page which tells you what’s involved and how you can sign up.
News about Bloodhound LSR

As you’ll no doubt be aware, Bloodhound LSR and the team are off to South Africa this month. It’s hugely exciting, especially for those who have been following the project for some years and for those whose names are on the tailfin (yes, they are on there, we’ve checked!). The aim is to run the car at speeds up to 500mph in order to understand how the car behaves and to finalise team operations before the world land speed record runs, planned for next year.
The Bloodhound Education team will be watching events in South Africa with great interest and wishes the Bloodhound LSR team all the best for success over the coming weeks.
Inspiring STEM students in Birmingham
At the beginning of this month, our team attended the highly successful 3-day PPMA Total Show at the NEC in Birmingham. Many of the 8,500 show attendees visited our stand, complete with show car, Bloodhound Driving Experience and VR simulator, along with students from specially invited secondary schools and members of the public. STEM Communicator Mike Ford gave an inspiring speech on “What’s Not Possible” on the Education-themed final day, while our Ambassadors manned a busy stand, talking to students, company representatives and the public.
Thank you to all of our Ambassadors who helped to make this happen! If your company would like to discuss how Bloodhound can fit into your education outreach programme, please get in touch.
How Bloodhound leaves a lasting legacy

Eight years ago, the Design & Technology teacher at Backwell School in Portishead, Bristol, followed up a visit by the Bloodhound team and the show car by setting up the Bloodhound after school club. Since then, the pupils have built a full-size replica of Bloodhound’s cockpit, inspiring many to go on to study engineering and take it up as a career.
Read their stories and then let us know how Bloodhound has inspired any students and young people that you know.
